Ode to A Lost Love (February 14, 2015)
Greater than the common man is he
Who steals away my heart with glee
His image teases my mind while I wait
For his absent self to return post-haste
In cruel painful wants my body lies
Restless, sleep is wrested each night
For as I sit still in false outward calm
Fractious heart beats harsh in constant harm
With the ink drying my words fade stale
Love’s phrase falls empty, instant pale
My breath is gone, my voice, I know not where
Ears ring full with thoughts of our affair
